At Barneys we have a few types of Small Groups: DNA groups; Growth Groups; BAFFLD; and Mainland Chinese Student Groups.
DNA stands for Discover, Nurture, Act. It is a small group of 4-5 people who gather weekly or fortnightly to read the Bible and help each other apply it to their lives. The primary focus of DNA groups is spiritual formation. DNA groups meet at whatever time and place suits them. DNA groups typically have people from fairly similar life stages in them.
Growth groups are a more traditional type of small-group community. They typically include 8-12 people, meet weekly on an evening, and have people from a slightly wider set of life stages in them.
For those who are new to Barneys, we ask that you please attend Onboard before joining a DNA or Growth Group.
Tertiary students in their first two years out of school, meet together at Barneys on Wednesday nights in a mixed seminar/small group model at BAFFLD. BAFFLD stands for Bible, Adulthood, Family, Formation + Life Decisions, which gives you an idea of the things we will be helping each other work through!
Similarly, mainland Chinese students meet together on Thursday nights. These gatherings equip those new to adult faith for a life devoted to following Jesus.
